Cooking Party

Sorry for the loooong delay in posting.  After Landon's party he came down with quite the cold and he (and we) has taken about this long to recover.  He got better after a few days but the aftermath (i.e. horrible terrible twos and poor sleep) we are still dealing with.
For Landon's 2nd Birthday party we had a cooking/BBQ themed party. He loves to pretend cook so we figured it'd be a fun way to celebrate his birthday.  We had all the kids put their own toppings on individual pizzas and then John threw them back on the grill.  Later they made their own ice cream sundaes for dessert.  Although the plan (Shani's at least) was for them to have a somewhat healthy option of ice cream with fruit toppings, the cake made its way to the kids.  Little does she realize that not all parents are as strict as she is about the amount of sweets the young kids get even for special occasions.  Yes, she does know she needs to lighten up a bit :-)  Landon then had a fun but overstimulating time opening presents.  It was quite chaotic and really hard to determine who gave him what, but we managed to pull through.  The weather was beautiful and the kids got to have some fun time outside playing too.  We think that if Landon could express his feelings more, he'd say that was a fun day!

Great Grandma, Uncle Bry, and Auntie Tak made it up from SoCal to join us for the party too.  It was so sweet of them to make the long drive to be there.  Landon had a great time playing trains and trucks with Grandma and Auntie Tak.  He would also get Uncle Bry to follow him around wherever he wanted.  We think he loved the extra attention!
