Camping in Bodega Bay

Shani and the boys went camping with her parents in Bodega Bay over the weekend.  John was in Michigan visiting best friends of ours who have been out there for the past few years.  Thankfully they are moving back to California in a couple months!  We miss them terribly and wish we could have all gotten to go out and see them.  Although we'd love to share the abundant pictures that John took on his trip (all of beer or breweries) we (Shani) thought you might get a little bored.  Of course here are a couple as he had an absolute blast spending time with Kevin, Elaine, and their boys.
Shani described their camping trip as interesting but fun.  No, it's not because the boys are bad campers.  A little before they left Landon accidently scratched his "peepee" which got infected and caused him tons of pain when he urinated.  This made for a very difficult trip of trying to get him to go to the bathroom so he wouldn't cause more serious issues by withholding.  Every time he had to go to the bathroom it was a battle, every time he wouldn't go to the bathroom was a battle, every time he bathed it was a battle.  So in that sense it was very frustrating.  Other than those times, it was really fun!  The weather was a bit windy but beautiful.  Camping will be much easier though once Carter is walking... and not putting everything into his mouth!
This month Carter also turned 11 months!!  He's such a sweet boy.  Although he's going through quite the "mommy" stage making it a little difficult for Shani to get a break.  He still continues to be all about Landon, something that drives Landon crazy.  He continues to sign well and eats a ton.  He's crawling all over the place and creeping along things.  It's difficult to get pictures of him without his thumb in his mouth, although we think those are cute too! So crazy for us to wrap our head around the fact that he's going to be one next month!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Landon!

How quickly they grow!
We can't believe Landon is three!  He's such a big boy doing all kinds of big boy things!  He's potty trained, going to school once/week, has a big vocabulary, knows his letters and colors, and pretty much wants to do everything on his own.  He's really getting into books and is "quote" reading.  He is always asking us what the words say.  He's starting to sleep a bit better at night, but still isn't great.  We love the nights that we only get up once which is usually to go potty and back to bed.  About once/week we still get multiple wakings in a night leaving us exhausted.  We hope sleep is something that continues to improve in his fourth year.  We can't help but still love this guy despite the lack of sleep!
Happy Birthday Lando!

Landon loves everything tractor so we decided to throw him a construction-themed birthday party with lots of tractors.  There were areas for the kids to dig in the dirt, a place to build with blocks, a research area full of all tractor books, and a place to take a "break" and bounce.  We think the kids had a great time and we enjoyed how much fun our birthday boy had!  We can't thank everyone enough who came to celebrate our big boy.  Even Great-grandma Hori, Uncle Bry, Auntie Tak, Auntie Margaret, and Uncle Bo from SoCal all came up.  He's one special boy!

John was sweet and brought the boys into the office on Valentine's Landon's Birthday so Shani could see them.

This past week Carter also turned 10 months!  He's getting to be such a big boy too.  He's crawling all over the place and pulling himself up on everything.  He's starting to babble more and more.  He's signing earlier than Landon did.  Some of the ones he knows and does often are more, all-done, light, fan, ball.  He also will do a couple motions when we say like dance, clap, stretch, and bye-bye.  He is also starting to mimic some sounds which is so cute.  He's such a sweet little boy who loves his brother, although to Landon it is pestering. These boys are sure crazy fun!
